Working as an international student in Portugal

The short version, for students from outside the country. Your own residence permit decides what applies to you.

In short

With a student residence permit you can usually work, but the employer or you must tell the immigration authority (AIMA) first.
Work must not stop you from studying full-time.
Check the details for your permit with AIMA before you start.

EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can usually work in Portugal without a work permit or an hour limit.
