Working as an international student in Austria

The short version, for students from outside the country. Your own residence permit decides what applies to you.

In short

Students from outside the EU can work, but the employer usually needs an employment permit from the public employment service (AMS) first.
Bachelor students can usually work up to 20 hours a week.
Check the official pages, as the limits depend on your course and permit.

EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can usually work in Austria without a work permit or an hour limit.
